Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the expressive language
skills of Group B children through role-playing activities in the Role Play
Center at RA Al-Hidayah Buntok. The research was motivated by
observations showing that many children had difficulty expressing their
ideas, feelings, and experiences using clear and structured sentences. The
study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning,
implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection
techniques included observation, documentation, and field notes. The
findings showed a significant improvement in children's expressive
language abilities after participating in structured and interactive roleplaying scenarios. Children became more confident in speaking, used a
wider vocabulary, and were more able to initiate and respond during
conversations. In the first cycle, 56% of children showed progress in
expressive language development, which increased to 86% by the second
cycle. These results suggest that role-playing activities in the Role Play
Center are effective in creating meaningful communication contexts that
stimulate language use. The research recommends that early childhood
educators integrate more role-play-based methods in their language
development programs to foster children's communication skills in a natural
and engaging way.
