Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of digital interactive timeline media to enhance the understanding of the chronology of Islamic development during the era of the Khulafaur Rasyidin among tenth-grade students at MAS Al-Awwabin Depok, West Java. The research utilizes a qualitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design. The intervention involved students using interactive digital timelines to visualize key events, milestones, and the contributions of the Khulafaur Rasyidin to the development of Islam. Data were collected through observations, student reflections, and teacher interviews. The findings indicate that the use of interactive timeline media significantly improved students' understanding of the historical sequence and significance of events during the Khulafaur Rasyidin period. Students showed greater engagement, improved retention, and a clearer understanding of the cause-and-effect relationships between events. This study highlights the effectiveness of digital interactive timelines as a dynamic and engaging tool in history education, especially in helping students comprehend complex historical narratives. The results suggest that this approach can be a valuable method for teaching Islamic history in secondary education.
