Abstract

This study explores the implementation of an educational escape room in the teaching of Aqidah Akhlak and Islamic Cultural History (SKI) for fifth-grade students at MI Assa’adah Ulujami. The research utilizes a qualitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design. The intervention involved designing an escape room game that integrates key SKI concepts, such as Islamic history, morals, and values. Students were divided into teams to solve puzzles and challenges based on SKI material. Data was collected through observations, student reflections, and teacher interviews. The findings indicate that the use of an educational escape room significantly increased student engagement, enhanced teamwork, and improved understanding of Islamic history and values. The escape room method made learning more interactive, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with real-life applications. This study highlights the potential of gamification in education, particularly in religious subjects, as an innovative and fun way to foster deeper learning and critical thinking skills. The results suggest that implementing escape room activities can be an effective tool for enhancing both academic performance and student motivation in learning SKI.
