Abstract

This study explores the utilization of Digital Puppetry (Digital Hand Puppets) as an engaging tool for introducing the Five Pillars of Islam (Rukun Islam) to young children at RA Nurul Mujahidin. The research involved 21 students in the early childhood education setting, where digital hand puppets were used to present each pillar of Islam in a fun, interactive, and visually appealing manner. The objective was to assess whether this innovative approach could enhance children's understanding of the basic tenets of Islam while making the learning process more enjoyable. The digital puppetry method combines traditional puppetry with digital technology, allowing for dynamic and creative presentations that can captivate children's attention and encourage active participation. Through a series of puppet shows, children were introduced to the concepts of Shahada (faith), Salat (prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage). Observations and feedback from both students and teachers revealed increased engagement and a deeper understanding of the Five Pillars of Islam. This approach offers a new avenue for integrating technology with Islamic education, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable for young learners.
