Abstract

This study investigates the use of Islamic Origami as a medium to enhance fine motor skills and understanding of worship concepts among young children at RA Cempaka YMI Sinaksak. The research involved 18 children, focusing on whether integrating Islamic teachings into origami activities could improve both their physical skills and their understanding of religious concepts. The children engaged in creating various Islamic symbols and objects through origami, such as prayer mats and mosques, while learning about the significance of these symbols in Islamic worship. The study observed that origami activities not only improved the children’s fine motor skills by involving hand-eye coordination and dexterity but also enhanced their understanding of religious practices. Results showed that children developed better control over their hand movements and demonstrated a deeper comprehension of worship-related concepts, such as prayer and cleanliness, through the origami creations. The study concludes that Islamic origami is an effective educational tool for promoting both physical and cognitive development in early childhood, offering a fun and engaging approach to learning about Islam.
