Abstract

This study explores the use of Islamic puppet theater (Wayang) to instill the values of honesty (jujur) and trustworthiness (amanah) in young children at RA Itama. The research involved 20 students, aiming to assess whether the integration of Islamic values into puppet theater could enhance children’s understanding and internalization of these moral values. The children participated in puppet theater performances that depicted stories based on Islamic teachings, focusing on characters that demonstrated honesty and trustworthiness. The results indicated significant improvements in the children’s ability to identify and express these values, both in their daily interactions and through storytelling. The puppet performances, combined with Islamic teachings, offered a creative and engaging approach to teaching fundamental moral values. The study concluded that Islamic puppet theater is an effective tool for moral education in early childhood, as it promotes an interactive, entertaining, and impactful learning environment for instilling virtues such as honesty and trustworthiness in young learners.
