Abstract

This study explores the application of the inquiry method with school environment exploration to introduce various types of plants and their benefits to third-grade students at MI Nurussalam Lerankulon. The research aimed to determine whether this method could enhance students' understanding of plant types, their characteristics, and the importance of plants in the environment. During the study, students participated in hands-on activities, including observing and identifying different plants around the school, as well as discussing the benefits of each plant. The results showed a significant improvement in students' knowledge about plants and their roles in the environment. The inquiry-based approach encouraged students to ask questions, explore, and engage in discussions, which deepened their understanding and promoted active learning. Additionally, students demonstrated increased interest in nature and the environment. This study concludes that the inquiry method, combined with environmental exploration, is an effective strategy for introducing scientific concepts like plant identification and benefits to young learners, fostering both curiosity and environmental awareness.
