Abstract

This study investigates the use of stop-motion video by fourth-grade students at MI Al Fatah 1 Sirkandi to explain the process of photosynthesis. The goal of the research was to assess whether creating stop-motion videos could help students better understand and articulate the complex process of photosynthesis in a creative and engaging manner. Throughout the study, students were tasked with creating their own stop-motion videos, illustrating the steps of photosynthesis, including how plants absorb light, water, and carbon dioxide to produce glucose. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' understanding of photosynthesis, as they were able to explain the process in detail and relate it to real-life applications. Additionally, the creative process of making the stop-motion videos fostered teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a deeper engagement with the subject. This study concludes that using stop-motion video as a learning tool is an effective method for teaching complex scientific concepts like photosynthesis, as it enhances student involvement and provides a fun, hands-on learning experience.
