Abstract

This study explores the utilization of podcast literacy as a medium for self-expression to enhance speaking skills among fifth-grade students at MIS DDI Baru-Baru Tanga. The aim of the research was to determine whether podcasts could serve as an effective tool for improving students' speaking abilities while fostering their creativity and self-expression. During the study, students were tasked with creating and recording podcasts on various topics, allowing them to practice articulation, pronunciation, and communication skills in a more relaxed and creative environment. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' speaking skills, as they became more confident in their ability to communicate effectively. Furthermore, students expressed greater enthusiasm for learning and were more motivated to participate in speaking activities. This study concludes that podcast literacy is an innovative and effective tool for enhancing students' speaking skills while encouraging them to explore their creativity and express themselves confidently. The findings suggest that podcasting can be a valuable resource in the development of communication skills, especially for young learners.
