Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in enhancing students' understanding of reading texts in Bahasa Indonesia at MIN 2 Kota Sawahlunto. The research follows a two-cycle model of planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, students were introduced to AR technology to visualize and interact with the reading texts, which allowed them to explore the context of the stories in a more engaging and immersive way. The study uses pre- and post-assessments, classroom observations, and student feedback to collect data on the impact of AR on their reading comprehension. The findings reveal that the integration of AR significantly improved students' understanding of reading texts, as indicated by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test results. Additionally, students showed increased engagement and motivation during lessons involving AR, which contributed to a deeper connection with the material. This research concludes that AR technology is an effective tool for enhancing reading comprehension in Bahasa Indonesia education, making learning more interactive and enjoyable. The results suggest that AR can be applied in future Bahasa Indonesia lessons to facilitate better understanding and retention of reading material.
