Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Role-Playing method in teaching
the stories of the Prophets and Messengers at SD Negeri 17 Kampung Baru, using
the Classroom Action Research (PTK) model. The stories of the Prophets and
Messengers hold significant value in Islamic education as they provide moral
lessons and guidance for students. However, traditional teaching methods often fail
to engage students effectively. The Role-Playing method is an interactive learning
approach that allows students to actively participate in dramatizing the events and
lessons from these stories. By employing PTK, this study seeks to identify whether
this method improves student engagement, understanding, and retention of the
material. The research involves a cycle of planning, action, observation, and
reflection, followed by subsequent adjustments to improve learning outcomes. Data
is collected through observations, student interviews, and pre- and post-tests. Initial
findings suggest that the Role-Playing method helps students better understand and
internalize the lessons from the Prophets’ stories, making them more relatable and
memorable. This approach also enhances students’ critical thinking, empathy, and
communication skills. The study concludes that Role-Playing is an effective method
for teaching religious stories and can be a valuable tool for enhancing the learning
experience in Islamic education.
