Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aims to examine the effectiveness of digital storytelling in enhancing students' understanding of Islamic stories at SDN 8 Padang Laweh. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. The primary focus of this study is to evaluate how digital storytelling, which integrates multimedia elements such as images, audio, and video, can make Islamic stories more engaging and easier for students to understand. The participants of this study were 30 students from grade 4, who were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group engaged in learning activities using digital storytelling, while the control group was taught through traditional methods, such as lectures and reading assignments. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, classroom observations, and student interviews to assess the effectiveness of digital storytelling in improving students' comprehension of Islamic stories. The results indicated that students who participated in the digital storytelling sessions demonstrated a significant improvement in understanding and retaining the moral lessons from the stories of the Prophets and Messengers. Additionally, students expressed greater interest and engagement in learning through this interactive method. This study concludes that digital storytelling is an effective and engaging method for teaching Islamic stories, which can be widely applied in Islamic education at the elementary level.
