Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' problem-solving
skills in mathematics at MIN 1 Pasaman Barat through the application of
technology-based learning models. The study was initiated due to the observation
that many students struggled with problem-solving tasks and lacked engagement in
traditional learning methods. Technology-based learning was chosen as an
innovative approach to enhance students' interest and skills in mathematics. The
research was conducted in two cycles, each involving planning, implementation,
observation, and reflection. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test
assessments to evaluate the improvement in students' problem-solving abilities.
Results indicated a significant improvement in students' problem-solving skills, as
evidenced by the higher post-test scores compared to the pre-test. Additionally,
students demonstrated increased engagement and motivation to participate in
learning activities. This research suggests that integrating technology into
mathematics instruction can be an effective strategy to improve problem-solving
skills, enhance learning outcomes, and foster a more interactive learning
environment. Based on the findings, it is recommended that MIN 1 Pasaman Barat
continue to explore and apply technology-based learning methods to further
improve students’ academic performance in mathematics.
