Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve students' social skills and understanding of Islamic Education (PAI) at SD Negeri 04 Simaung through the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model. The research was driven by the need to enhance student engagement and collaboration during PAI lessons. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, students worked individually to think about the given PAI topic, then paired up to share their ideas before engaging in a class-wide discussion. In the second cycle, more complex topics and additional peer feedback were incorporated. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers, and student assessments to measure the improvements in social skills and understanding. The results showed a significant increase in students' participation, communication, and ability to relate Islamic values to their daily lives. The study concluded that the TPS model is an effective method for promoting active learning and improving students' understanding of Islamic Education, making the lessons more engaging and collaborative.
