Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aims to explore the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ creativity and understanding of moral values in Islamic Education (PAI) at SMPN 09 Solok Selatan. The research focuses on the eighth-grade students, with the objective of improving both their academic and moral development through hands-on, real-world projects. This research follows a two-cycle approach, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The first cycle aims to identify initial challenges, while the second cycle refines the application of the PBL model based on observations and feedback. Data is collected through observations, student reflections, and teacher interviews to assess the impact of the PBL approach on student engagement and moral comprehension. The results of this study are expected to demonstrate that PBL not only increases student participation and creativity but also strengthens their ability to apply Islamic moral values in daily life. This research contributes to the development of innovative and contextual teaching strategies in Islamic education, particularly in enhancing character-building aspects among middle school students.
