Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' character skills and understanding of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) by implementing a project-based learning model at SDN 07 IV Koto Aur Malintang. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research involved 25 fifth-grade students, and the project-based approach focused on engaging students in hands-on activities that integrated Islamic values into real-life contexts. The primary objective was to assess whether this approach could foster a deeper understanding of PAI while simultaneously improving students' character development. Data were collected through observations, student assessments, and teacher reflections. The results showed significant improvements in student participation, engagement, and comprehension of Islamic values, along with enhanced collaboration and responsibility. This research demonstrates that project-based learning can provide a more interactive and effective method of delivering PAI content while contributing to the holistic development of students.
