Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students'
understanding of Islamic Akhlak (morality) at SMK Teknologi Lengayang
through a project-based learning approach. The research was conducted in
two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection
phases. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class X in the Islamic
Religious Education (PAI) subject. The main objective was to engage
students in learning activities that would enhance their knowledge and
application of Islamic moral values. During the project-based learning
process, students were given tasks to collaborate on creating projects that
illustrate key moral teachings of Islam. Data were collected through
observations, questionnaires, and interviews, which were analyzed
qualitatively to measure changes in students' understanding and attitudes
toward Islamic morality. The results showed a significant improvement in
student engagement, motivation, and comprehension of Islamic Akhlak.
The project-based approach not only increased student involvement in the
learning process but also helped them better internalize the values of Islam.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of project-based learning in
enhancing students' understanding of Islamic moral teachings.
