Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students'
understanding of Islamic Aqidah through project-based learning at SDN 9
Limo Koto. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of
planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research involved 5th
grade students and focused on applying a project-based approach to make
the learning of Aqidah more engaging and meaningful. Data were collected
through observations, student reflections, and interviews. The results
showed that project-based learning improved students' understanding of
Aqidah, as they were given opportunities to work on projects related to
Islamic beliefs and values. These projects included group activities,
presentations, and creating visual representations of core Aqidah concepts,
which made the learning process more interactive and practical. As a result,
students demonstrated increased comprehension of Islamic principles, as
well as greater enthusiasm in learning. The research indicates that project
based learning is an effective strategy to improve students' understanding
of religious concepts, as it encourages active participation and deeper
engagement. Teachers are encouraged to implement this method to enhance
students' learning experiences and foster a more comprehensive
understanding of Aqidah in Islamic education.
