Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness 
of using interactive technology in Religious Education (PAI) to increase 
student engagement and understanding of Islamic teachings at SD Negeri 
20 Padang Laweh Selatan. The study was conducted in two cycles, each 
consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research 
involved 5th-grade students and focused on integrating digital tools, such 
as multimedia presentations and educational apps, into the teaching of 
Islamic values. Data were collected through classroom observations, 
student surveys, and assessments to evaluate their level of engagement and 
comprehension. The results indicate that the use of interactive technology 
significantly improved student participation in class activities, with students 
showing a higher level of interest in Islamic subjects. Additionally, students 
were able to better understand and apply Islamic teachings in their daily 
lives. This research highlights the potential of incorporating technology into 
PAI classes to create a more dynamic and effective learning environment. 
Based on the findings, it is recommended that teachers continue to explore 
the use of digital tools to enhance the delivery of Religious Education, 
providing students with a more engaging and interactive learning 
experience.
