Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding and practice of Islamic Education (PAI) in SDN 03 2x11 Enam Lingkung through the implementation of contextual learning approaches. The issue addressed in this study is the lack of engagement and meaningful understanding of PAI among students, which affects their spiritual development. The research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, which involves planning, action, observation, and reflection cycles to enhance the learning process. The contextual approach is used to connect PAI lessons with the students' daily experiences, encouraging them to actively participate and internalize Islamic values. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and student performance assessments. The findings show a significant improvement in the students’ involvement, understanding, and application of Islamic teachings in their daily lives. This research contributes to the development of innovative teaching methods in PAI that are both engaging and effective for elementary school students
