Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the implementation of the Inquiry-Based Learning model to enhance the understanding and practice of Islamic Education (PAI) at SD Negeri 6 Bukit Bual. The issue addressed is the lack of student engagement and meaningful understanding in the current PAI learning process, where students struggle to connect Islamic teachings with their daily lives. The Inquiry-Based Learning model was chosen for this study due to its potential to foster critical thinking and active participation among students by encouraging them to explore and discover Islamic values through inquiry and problem-solving. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and assessments of students’ performance before and after the implementation of the model. The results indicate that the use of the Inquiry-Based Learning model significantly improved students’ understanding of PAI content, increased their active participation, and promoted a deeper connection between Islamic teachings and their everyday actions. This research highlights the effectiveness of using active learning methods to enhance students' engagement and spiritual awareness, which can be a model for other schools to adopt.
