Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model in enhancing student engagement and understanding in Islamic Education (PAI) at SD Negeri 33 Kinali. The research addresses the issue of low student involvement and understanding of Islamic teachings, which affects their ability to apply these teachings in daily life. The Think-Pair-Share model was chosen as it encourages students to think critically, collaborate with peers, and share their ideas, promoting a more interactive and participatory learning environment. Data were collected through classroom observations, student interviews, and performance assessments conducted before and after the implementation of the model. The results indicate that the use of Think-Pair-Share significantly improved students' engagement in the learning process, as well as their understanding and application of PAI content. This approach not only fostered a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings but also enhanced students' social skills and confidence in discussing religious topics. The findings suggest that the Think-Pair-Share model can be an effective strategy for improving the quality of PAI instruction in elementary schools.
