Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve students' 
understanding of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through the 
implementation of a contextual learning model integrated with technology 
at SDN 32 Muaro Putuih. The research was conducted in two cycles, each 
consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The focus was 
on making learning more relevant by connecting PAI materials with 
students' everyday experiences and enhancing it with digital tools such as 
interactive videos and educational apps. The study involved 30 Grade 5 
students, who engaged in learning activities using multimedia resources. 
Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and assessments. 
Results indicated a significant improvement in student engagement, 
understanding, and retention of PAI topics. Students showed a higher level 
of participation and demonstrated a better grasp of Islamic values and 
practices. This research suggests that the integration of technology into a 
contextual learning model is an effective strategy to enhance the quality of 
PAI education. It highlights the importance of adapting teaching methods 
to align with the technological era while making the subject matter more 
accessible and meaningful to students.
