Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness
of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing students'
understanding of Akidah Akhlak at MTs Negeri 1 Rembang. The study
focuses on improving student engagement, critical thinking, and moral
reasoning through the PBL approach. The research is conducted in two
cycles, each involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data
were collected using observations, student assessments, and interviews with
both teachers and students. The findings indicate that PBL significantly
increased students' participation and comprehension of Akidah Akhlak
topics, as students were encouraged to analyze real-life problems and relate
them to Islamic values. Moreover, students showed improved moral
reasoning and ethical decision-making skills. This study highlights the
importance of adopting innovative teaching methods, such as PBL, in the
teaching of Akidah Akhlak to make the learning process more meaningful
and interactive. The results suggest that the PBL model not only enhances
cognitive understanding but also contributes to the development of students'
character and ethical values.
