Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance student
engagement and academic achievement in Islamic Religious Education
(PAI) by integrating gamification techniques at SMP Negeri 3 Baso. The
research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action,
observation, and reflection. Gamification, which involves incorporating
game elements such as points, badges, and leaderboards into the learning
process, was used to motivate students and make learning more interactive
and enjoyable. The study involved 40 students from Grade 8, who
participated in gamified PAI lessons. Data were collected through
classroom observations, student surveys, and performance assessments.
The findings revealed a significant increase in student engagement, with
students showing higher motivation and participation during lessons.
Additionally, students demonstrated an improvement in their understanding
of key PAI concepts. This research suggests that integrating gamification
into PAI can be an effective strategy to enhance learning outcomes, as it
provides a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. It also
highlights the potential of innovative teaching methods in fostering a deeper
connection between students and the subject matter.
