Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students'
understanding of Islamic values through the application of a digital
storytelling approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at UPT SD
Negeri 13 Kubang. The research was conducted over two cycles, each
consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Digital
storytelling, which combines narrative elements with multimedia resources
such as images, audio, and video, was implemented to make the learning of
Islamic teachings more engaging and relatable for students. The study
involved 30 students from Grade 5, who participated in digital storytelling
based lessons. Data were collected through classroom observations, student
surveys, and performance assessments. The findings revealed a significant
increase in student engagement, as they became more interested in the
subject and actively participated in class discussions. Additionally, students
demonstrated a deeper understanding of Islamic values, such as kindness,
honesty, and respect. This research suggests that the integration of digital
storytelling into PAI can be an effective method to make learning more
interactive and meaningful. It emphasizes the importance of using
innovative approaches to bridge the gap between traditional teaching
methods and students' interests in the digital era.
