Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of Islamic history through the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The AR-based learning method was used to create interactive experiences, allowing students to visualize key events in Islamic history, such as the life of the Prophet Muhammad and significant historical moments. The study involved 35 students from Grade 8, who actively participated in AR-enhanced lessons. Data were collected through classroom observations, student surveys, and academic performance assessments. The findings revealed a significant improvement in student engagement, with students showing increased interest and participation in lessons. Furthermore, students demonstrated a better understanding of the historical events and figures of Islam. This research suggests that the integration of AR into PAI can be a valuable tool for enhancing students' learning experiences, making abstract historical concepts more tangible. It emphasizes the importance of incorporating innovative technologies into education to make learning more engaging and meaningful for students.
