Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the
implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in enhancing
students' understanding and engagement in the subject of Islamic Education
(PAI) at UPT SDN 13 Pelangai Kecil. The research is conducted in two
cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. The
use of AR technology in this study involves visualizing key Islamic
historical events, such as the Hijra and the Battle of Badr, providing
students with interactive and immersive learning experiences. Data
collection methods include observations, student surveys, and interviews to
evaluate the changes in student motivation, participation, and
comprehension of Islamic history. The results indicate a notable increase in
student involvement in class discussions and a deeper understanding of the
material. Moreover, AR has been shown to effectively enhance student
engagement by creating a more dynamic and enjoyable learning
environment. Despite some challenges related to limited technological
resources and the need for teacher training, the study concludes that AR can
significantly contribute to improving the quality of Islamic Education
lessons. This research highlights the potential of integrating AR in PAI
teaching to foster a more engaging, interactive, and impactful learning
experience for students.
