Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Faith and Morality) at MIN 1 Lampung Barat by integrating local wisdom into the teaching approach. The research addresses the challenges of students' limited engagement with the subject matter, which often results in a superficial understanding of Islamic values. The study applies a participatory approach by involving both students and teachers in the learning process, focusing on the application of local cultural values that align with Islamic teachings. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and student assessments before and after the intervention. The findings indicate that incorporating local wisdom in teaching Akidah Akhlak significantly improves students' engagement, comprehension, and application of Islamic principles in their daily lives. This approach not only bridges the gap between students' cultural backgrounds and religious teachings but also fosters a deeper connection to both the content and community values. The research suggests that using culturally relevant methods can be an effective strategy in enhancing religious education in schools.
