Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance the understanding of Islamic values among young children at TK Aisyiyah Koto Baru through the storytelling method in Islamic Education (PAI) lessons. The study addresses the challenge that young children often find it difficult to grasp abstract Islamic concepts, making it essential to use engaging, child-friendly approaches. Storytelling was chosen as it helps to simplify Islamic teachings and presents them in an enjoyable and memorable way. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of children's engagement, interviews with teachers, and assessments of children's understanding. The findings indicate that storytelling significantly improved the children's comprehension of Islamic values, increased their interest in learning, and encouraged them to apply the values in their daily lives. This research highlights the effectiveness of using storytelling as a method in early childhood Islamic education, demonstrating its potential to make Islamic teachings more accessible and engaging for young learners.
