Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve students' understanding and practice of Shalat (Islamic prayer) in the PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam) subject at SMP S Islam Bakti. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The focus of this research was on applying a hands-on approach to teaching Shalat, allowing students to learn by actively performing the prayer under the guidance of the teacher. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and reflective notes from both teachers and students. The findings indicated that the hands-on approach significantly enhanced students' comprehension of Shalat, as well as their ability to perform the prayer correctly. Students showed increased confidence and understanding of the steps and spiritual meanings behind the prayer. The research concluded that active participation through direct practice is an effective method in improving students' learning experiences in PAI, particularly in understanding and practicing essential Islamic rituals such as Shalat.
