Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of tolerance through the PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam) subject at SDN 12 Sungai Geringging. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The focus of the study was on implementing group discussion methods to promote active participation and collaborative learning among students. By discussing various scenarios related to tolerance in religious contexts, students were encouraged to reflect on the importance of respect, understanding, and accepting differences among people from diverse backgrounds. Data were collected through observations, student reflections, and interviews with teachers. The findings indicate that group discussions helped students better understand the concept of tolerance, leading to increased awareness of its relevance in daily life. Additionally, students showed improved interpersonal skills and a greater sense of empathy towards others. The study concluded that using interactive methods such as group discussions in PAI lessons is an effective way to teach values like tolerance, fostering a more inclusive and respectful learning environment
