Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of the Five Pillars of Islam in the Islamic Education (PAI) subject at UPT SDN 12 Limau Gadang, particularly for grade V students. The research focuses on the application of an interactive learning method, specifically Role Playing, to facilitate deeper engagement and comprehension of the subject matter. The research process includes planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on the effectiveness of Role Playing as a teaching strategy. Through this method, students are encouraged to act out scenarios related to the Five Pillars of Islam, which enhances their understanding by applying the concepts in a practical and relatable way. The findings are expected to show an increase in students' understanding and retention of the material, as well as an improvement in their active participation and motivation in learning. This study contributes to the exploration of innovative teaching methods in Islamic education, particularly in the context of elementary school education.
