Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students'
understanding of the spiritual and social wisdom of fasting (hikmah
berpuasa) through Islamic Education (PAI) lessons at SD Negeri 04 Lundar.
Fasting, as one of the pillars of Islam, is not only a physical act of abstaining
from food and drink but also carries profound wisdom in developing self
discipline, empathy, and gratitude. This research focuses on applying
interactive teaching methods to make the concept of fasting more relatable
and impactful for students, including discussions, storytelling, and
reflection activities. The study was conducted over two cycles, each
consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were
collected through observations, interviews, and assessments to evaluate the
improvement in students' understanding and application of the wisdom of
fasting in their daily lives. The results indicate that students’ understanding
of fasting's wisdom deepened, particularly in areas like empathy for the less
fortunate and self-control. This study highlights the importance of
integrating practical teachings about fasting into the classroom to foster
positive character development among students, ensuring that they not only
understand its religious significance but also apply its teachings in their
personal lives.
