Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the Quran as a guide for life through Islamic Education (PAI) lessons at SMPN 1 Sijunjung. The Quran, as the ultimate source of guidance for Muslims, contains timeless wisdom and principles that can shape character and provide direction in everyday life. This study focuses on applying contextual learning strategies to help students connect Quranic teachings to real-life situations. The research is conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods include observations, student reflections, and pre- and post-assessment questionnaires to measure changes in students' understanding and application of the Quran’s teachings. The results indicate that contextual learning methods significantly improve students' engagement and deepen their understanding of the Quran’s relevance to their lives. This research highlights the importance of making religious teachings more relatable and practical for students, ensuring they understand how to integrate these teachings into their personal and social lives. Ultimately, the findings suggest that effective teaching strategies in PAI can foster a more profound connection between students and the Quran, making it a meaningful guide for their life choices.
