Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students’ understanding of Islamic History through Islamic Education (PAI) lessons at UPT SDN 36 Rangeh. Understanding the history of Islam is crucial for students to better appreciate their religious roots and the development of Islamic civilization. The research focuses on utilizing contextual teaching methods, including interactive discussions, storytelling, and the integration of real-life examples, to make the learning of Islamic history more relatable and engaging. The study is conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data are collected through observations, student surveys, and reflective journals to assess changes in students’ understanding and interest in Islamic history. The findings suggest that using contextual methods significantly enhances students' engagement with the material and their ability to relate historical events to their personal lives. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating history into students' daily experiences, making it not just a subject to study but a living part of their worldview. Ultimately, this research highlights how interactive and context-based learning strategies can improve the teaching of Islamic history, fostering a deeper connection with the subject matter.
