This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding and engagement in Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) through the implementation of collaborative learning strategies at SDN 21 Rantau Simalenang. The research seeks to identify how collaborative methods, such as group discussions and peer teaching, can improve students' comprehension of Islamic teachings and values. By using a qualitative approach, the study involves a two-cycle intervention process. In each cycle, various interactive techniques were introduced to foster active student participation and critical thinking. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and student reflections, with the results being analyzed to assess changes in student engagement and understanding. Preliminary findings indicate that students' participation in PAI lessons significantly increased, and their grasp of Islamic values deepened. The research also suggests that collaborative learning fosters a supportive classroom environment, enhancing social skills and empathy among students. This study contributes to the development of innovative teaching methods in PAI, emphasizing the importance of peer interaction and discussion in enhancing religious education.
