Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) focuses on improving students' understanding of the Five Pillars of Islam through the Snowball Throwing learning model at SDN 54 Garagahan. The study aims to enhance students' engagement and knowledge retention in learning religious concepts. The Snowball Throwing model is an interactive and cooperative learning method that encourages students to actively participate in discussions and problem-solving activities. By applying this model, students are expected to not only memorize the Five Pillars of Islam but also understand their significance in daily life. This research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The findings indicate a significant improvement in the students' understanding of the material, as well as their motivation to learn. The Snowball Throwing model proved effective in creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment, fostering better communication and teamwork among students. This research contributes to the development of more effective teaching strategies in religious education for elementary school students.
