Abstract

This action research aims to enhance students' understanding and practice of "Tata Cara Tayamum" (the procedure of tayamum) at SMPN 1 Padang Sago. The study focuses on improving students' ability to correctly perform tayamum, especially in situations where water is unavailable, through a contextual learning approach that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. The research will be conducted in several cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data will be collected through classroom observations, student feedback, and pre-test and post-test assessments to measure improvements in students' understanding and execution of tayamum. The expected outcome is that by using active learning strategies, students will not only memorize the steps of tayamum but also understand the significance of tayamum as a valid substitute for wudhu in specific circumstances. This study seeks to provide insights into effective teaching methods for religious practices in secondary schools, making the learning process more meaningful and applicable to students’ daily lives.
