Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of "Jihad in Islam" at SMPIT Mardhatillah, involving 26 students. The study focuses on employing a discussion and case study approach to explore the true meaning of Jihad, moving beyond common misconceptions. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. The intervention included structured discussions, storytelling, and analysis of case studies related to historical and contemporary interpretations of Jihad in Islam. Data were collected through observations, student feedback, and assessments, indicating a significant improvement in students' understanding and attitude toward the concept of Jihad. The findings suggest that an interactive approach that engages students in critical thinking and contextual learning can effectively promote a deeper understanding of complex Islamic concepts. This research contributes to the development of strategies for teaching Islamic values in a balanced and insightful manner at the middle school level.
