Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the mosque as a central place for worship and education at UPT SDN 27 Lagan Kecil Mudik, with 18 students participating in the study. The research focuses on using a contextual learning approach to introduce students to the importance of the mosque in Islam, both as a place of worship and a center for community and educational activities. The study was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. During the intervention, students participated in activities such as visiting a mosque, discussing its role in the community, and learning about its historical and cultural significance. Data were collected through observations, student feedback, and assessments, which showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of the mosque’s role and their connection to it. The findings suggest that contextual learning, which connects educational content to real-life experiences, can effectively promote a deeper understanding of religious practices and community values. This research contributes to the development of strategies for teaching about places of worship in primary schools, fostering greater religious awareness and community engagement among young students.
