Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the history of Islamic dakwah at SMAN 1 VII Koto Sungai Sarik, involving 29 students. The study focuses on implementing an interactive and contextual learning approach to deepen students' comprehension of the spread of Islam, its principles, and the strategies used by the early Muslim community in conveying the message of Islam. The research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. During the intervention, students participated in activities such as group discussions, role-playing historical figures, and analyzing the key events of Islamic dakwah. Data were collected through observations, student feedback, and assessments, which revealed a significant improvement in students' knowledge and understanding of Islamic history and dakwah. The findings suggest that an interactive and contextual learning approach can effectively engage students and enhance their understanding of historical events. This research contributes to the development of effective teaching strategies for Islamic history in secondary schools, helping students appreciate the significance of dakwah in shaping Islamic civilization.
