Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the concept of "Keutamaan Ilmu dalam Islam" (The Virtue of Knowledge in Islam) through the use of the discussion method at UPT SDN 27 Lagan Kecil Mudik. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The discussion method encourages active student participation by providing a platform for them to express their views, ask questions, and engage in critical thinking about the significance of knowledge in Islam. Data were collected through observations, student assessments, and reflections on their learning process. The results indicated that the discussion method significantly improved students’ engagement and comprehension of the topic, as they were actively involved in exploring the importance of knowledge in their daily lives. By the end of the second cycle, students demonstrated a deeper understanding of the concept of knowledge in Islam, including its application in personal development and community life. This study suggests that using the discussion method can be an effective approach to teaching Islamic studies, especially on topics that require deeper reflection and critical thinking.
