Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of "Hukum Zakat" (The Law of Zakat) through the use of the lecture method at SDN 17 Tanjung Mas. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The lecture method is used to present key concepts regarding zakat, its significance, and the requirements of zakat in Islam. Data were collected through classroom observations, student assessments, and reflections on their learning process. The results indicated that the lecture method improved students’ understanding of zakat laws, with an increase in their ability to explain the rules and importance of zakat in their lives. By the end of the second cycle, students demonstrated a deeper understanding of the concept of zakat, particularly in terms of its role in the Islamic community and its connection to social justice. This research suggests that the lecture method, when effectively implemented, can be an effective tool for teaching Islamic studies, particularly in understanding the legal and moral dimensions of zakat.
