Abstract
One of the skills teachers need to possess as educators is pedagogical competence. Pedagogical competence is the ability to understand students, design and implement learning plans, evaluate learning outcomes, and develop students to actualize their potential.
This is regulated in Law No. 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers. With the pedagogical competence required, teachers are expected to be able to create a learning environment that is not demagogic or monotonous, which can lead to decreased student motivation. Decreased student motivation can also impact student achievement.
In its process, education needs to keep pace with developments in Science and Technology (IPTEK). With these changes in the world of education, teachers are also required to hone and explore their abilities in relation to technological advancements and their application in learning activities. These advances in IPTEK can influence educators' mindsets in helping facilitate their students' learning needs by utilizing learning media. One medium that teachers can use to deliver teaching materials is Microsoft PowerPoint. The use of power points in learning can help teachers develop techniques for delivering teaching material to students.
In addition to the media used in learning, a learning model can also be implemented using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. According to Glazer (2001), PBL emphasizes learning as a process involving problem-solving and critical thinking in real-world contexts. This learning model is a learning approach that presents contextual problems. Therefore, it can stimulate students' critical thinking skills and higher-order thinking skills in situations encountered in the real world.
The Learning Objectives (TP) to be achieved in this study are student achievement in: 1.1. Reading Q.S. Al-Hujurat verse 13. 1.2. Translating Q.S. Al-Hujurat verse 13. 1.3. Presenting the Main Message of Q.S. Al-Hujurat verse 13.
However, the learning outcomes achieved have not yet yielded optimal results. Some students still do not understand the main message of Q.S. Al-Hujurat verse 13. This is due to technical and non-technical obstacles. Technical constraints relate to student handbooks not yet being available to all students due to late returns from previous classes. Non-technical constraints include some students who are active and others who tend to be passive in learning activities.
