Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students'
understanding of the concept of "Jihad in Islam" through a Differentiated
Instruction model at SMPS Muhammadiyah Ujung Gading. The study
focuses on catering to the diverse learning needs of students by offering
multiple pathways for learning, allowing students to engage with the
material at their own pace and according to their strengths. Differentiated
Instruction involves adjusting content, process, and product based on the
students' readiness levels, interests, and learning profiles. This research will
be conducted in two cycles, each including planning, action, observation,
and reflection. Data will be collected through observations, student
feedback, and pre- and post-tests to assess changes in students'
understanding of Jihad in Islam, as well as their ability to apply its
principles in real-life contexts. The goal of this research is to evaluate how
Differentiated Instruction can improve students' comprehension of religious
teachings while accommodating various learning styles. The findings will
provide insights into the effectiveness of Differentiated Instruction in
teaching complex religious concepts and help inform future teaching
strategies in Islamic education.
