Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the implementation of cooperative learning in teaching the stories of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) at SDN 01 Selamat. The research focuses on enhancing students' understanding and appreciation of these historical figures and their virtues through a collaborative approach. Cooperative learning emphasizes student interaction, peer support, and group problem-solving, which is expected to improve students' comprehension of the moral values and lessons embedded in the companions' stories. The research utilizes a cyclical process of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting to ensure continuous improvement in both teaching strategies and student engagement. Data is collected through observations, student interviews, and assessments to measure the impact of cooperative learning on students' knowledge and attitudes. The findings of this study are anticipated to provide insights into the effectiveness of cooperative learning in religious education, particularly in fostering a deeper understanding of the role of the Prophet's companions in Islam. It is hoped that this model will not only improve academic performance but also enhance the students' character development.
