Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning model in enhancing students' understanding of Islamic history at SD Negeri 05 Kampung Pondok. The study focuses on improving students' comprehension of key events and figures in Islamic history through active collaboration and group-based activities. The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and surveys to assess students' engagement and understanding before and after the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model. The results indicate that students showed significant improvement in their understanding of Islamic history as they worked together in groups, exchanging ideas and discussing historical events. This approach allowed students to learn from each other and deepen their comprehension of the subject matter. The research highlights the potential of Cooperative Learning to promote active learning, teamwork, and critical thinking. The findings suggest that this model is effective in teaching Islamic history, as it encourages collaborative problem-solving and enhances students' ability to apply the knowledge gained in real-life contexts.
