Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in enhancing students' understanding of the virtues of charity (sedekah) at SDIT Cahaya Madani Lubuk Sikaping. The study adopts a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, consisting of two cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The primary objective is to assess whether the Discovery Learning model can effectively foster students' awareness of the importance of charity, both as a religious duty and as a moral value to be applied in daily life. Through the Discovery Learning process, students are encouraged to actively explore and investigate the concepts and benefits of charity, leading to a deeper understanding. Data is collected through classroom observations, interviews with students and teachers, and pre- and post-tests to evaluate changes in students' knowledge and attitudes. The findings are expected to show that Discovery Learning enhances students' engagement, critical thinking, and application of the values learned. This research aims to contribute to the development of effective teaching methods for religious education, particularly in helping young learners connect religious teachings with real-life practices.
