Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing students' understanding of Islamic Sharia practices at SMA N 2 Ranah Pesisir Selatan. The research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, which consists of two cycles involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The primary goal is to determine whether PjBL can improve students' comprehension and practical application of Sharia principles in their daily lives. In this approach, students will work on real-life projects that require them to explore, discuss, and apply the concepts of Islamic Sharia in contemporary contexts. Data collection methods include classroom observations, student interviews, and pre- and post-tests to measure shifts in students' knowledge and attitudes. The findings are expected to demonstrate that PjBL fosters a deeper engagement with the subject matter, encourages critical thinking, and promotes collaborative learning among students. This research seeks to contribute to the development of more effective teaching strategies for Islamic education, specifically in helping students connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications of Sharia in everyday life.
